Re: Walden Woods Common Area
Walden Woods is a residential area off of Auburn Folsom Road approximately three miles
north of Douglas Blvd. Over the past few months, our twenty eight-acre common area,
between Los Lagos and Walden Woods, has been used on some Friday and Saturday nights by
uninvited and unidentified youths, as a site for beer parties including bonfires.
Recently, a party was held and leaflets announcing the party were distributed at Del Oro
High School. The Sheriff's office on one evening was called several times and helped
close down one of these events.
This area is undeveloped. That means that there are fire roads but no improved
roads, no water or electricity. We want to keep it that way. It is also gated
private property and signs are posted to this effect.
We are concerned that any fire that is started may get out of control - especially in the
summer. The consequences could be catastrophic not only for Walden Woods but for the
surrounding communities as well.
We want your help in ensuring that
everyone knows that this area is private property and that the behavior described above is
not acceptable. The rules established for this area are very simple:
- No trespassing. Only the Walden Woods homeowners and their invited guests are
expected to use or be in this area.
- No Fires
- No unauthorized motorized vehicles
- No drinking by minors
As community leaders we want everyone to know what is going on in our area. We want
to stop this problem before it gets out of hand because we cannot afford even one
mistake. Please inform others in your organization of this situation. We
appreciate in advance your efforts to assist us in this matter.
