This is a short note due to all the holiday activities.  I hope your holiday is turning out as nice as ours.

Board News

Pre-scheduled Board of Directors meetings are on the Walden Woods Calendar and below (always tentative and subject to change-call a board member or look for the signs).   All meetings at 7:30 PM unless otherwise noted.

Homeowner Dues are Due on January 1st!

You should have received your annual Walden Wood Association homeowner bill last month.  They are due and payable by Jan 1, 2003, with late fines etc on Jan 30, 2003.  If anyone needs a payment schedule because of a hardship, our treasurer, Gary Grenfell (652-1382), always welcomes a call to discuss a payment plan for dues & assessments! 

Nice and Safe Halloween

Thanks to Gail Sillers and neighborhood volunteers we had another terrific Halloween.  Besides thanks to the entrance volunteers, we also need to thank Owen Kittredge, Mike Siller, and Reid Gibson for putting up barricades around the neighborhood streets to keep car speeds in check. 

This year, no problems what so ever!  We’ve developed a nice reputation in Walden Woods for a great place for families to trick or treat activities. 

Common Area:

Bill Furnas is off on holiday vacation – we’ll get the scope on the going on’s in next month’s newsletter including the Wild Flower planting.

 

Internet connections:

I received numerous replies to the survey on faster internet connections.  Several of the Woodrock homes have cable, with some mixed review.  We also have mixed reviews from the adopters of the DirecWay satellite connections in our neighborhood.  We continue to here varied responses from PacBell about future DSL service in our area.  

Scott Carl, one of our newer neighbors, is digging into our options.   He is also trying out DirecWay and is looking into Wireless DSL.  He’ll try to come up with some recom-mendations.  If you have any suggestions, ideas or would like to help out, call him at 652-2159.

Directory Update Plan for 2003:

Directories have been printed and collated.  They are now awaiting covers and stapling.  We should have them out as planned in January.  Changes can still be sent to me for inclusion in next year’s directory – do it before you forget!

We could have sent these in to Kinko’s or similar, but we’re using volunteer help to put these together.  It’s fairly labor intensive. If you would like to help out, please contact Denese.

Nov 20th                                  Done. Collect changes to names / addresses from last printing.  If you already sent a change to me it should be incorporated, but you’re welcome to send a reminder.

Nov 20th                                  Done. Review changes to general info section on the directory.  If you want to review the latest draft, you can go to the web and review it there.  Most names and addresses have been removed on this on-line version for safety.

Nov 20th – Dec 10th              Done.  Final edits, include new Water Board Directors, printing.

Dec 10th – Dec 20th              Done.  Printing.

Dec 20th – Jan 10th               Folding, covers, inserts, stapling, etc.

Jan 15th – Jan 31st                Distributions
