room set (photo) I'd like to post for sale to my neighbors. 74x42 plus
2 leaves, 16” each. 2 ARM chairs, 6 side

Garage
Sale – Saturday, June 22.
Gena Howells and Judy Decker are going to put on a garage sale for
June 22. They’ll do the advertising.
If anyone else in the neighborhood would like to do have a garage sale
on same day, let Gena or Judy know.
Moon Walk – Mark your
calendars for Saturday, June 22nd -:
Join us
on Saturday evening, June 22nd for the second Walden Woods Moonlight Walk
through the Common Area. At 8:00 PM
we'll start meeting up in Bill Furnas' back yard (8345 Walden Woods Way) and
leave at 8:30 for a nice Moon lit walk through the Common Area. We'll end up at the picnic table on Sunset
hill for wine and snacks. The walk is
short, but pleasant. Bring
flashlights. We'll have spares if you
forget!
Board News
The next Board of Directors meeting is set for July 30th at Garry
Grenfell’s house. These meetings are
open to all WWHO members.
Fire Season
You can only burn on “Burn Days” during prescribed hours. To find out if a day is a burn day, the
hours, and how to get a burn permit, dial 530 889-6868.
Starting in July, burning is not allowed until the end of fire
season.
CC&R
Update
The new CC&R proposal has passed with a resounding “YES”. The vote still must be independently
verified and recorded. We’ll get the
CC&R’s up on the Walden Woods Web site shortly.
Common Area:
Pathways:
The common area crew has
been performing spring maintenance on the path ways.
Poison
Oak: You may have
noticed that we are again aggressively attacking the poison oak in the common
area. We’re following a similar plan as last summer, with the first phase
focused along the pathways to make it safe to walk and enjoy the common
area. Keep in mind that pet's don't stay on the path and will bring the
poison oak to you.
This is
a slow process and we need your help in the eradication process by volunteering
some time to cut or spray poison oak.
We have two sprayers and chemicals.
Call Guy or Victoria Hall (652-9158) to assist. Join Mary Blanton, Denese Holder, Victoria
and I in this battle to open up the common area..
Dumping
/ Burning: Remember burning and dumping is not
allowed in the common area. If you see
this occurring, please contact a board member.
Star Thistle: Notice those bags of star thistle in the common area? Yellow Star Thistle is classified as one of California's most obnoxious weeds. Its presence in our common area is still limited, but if we didn't start to control it now, we will be locked out of our common area by this spiny barrier. If you're out on a walk and see some, pull it up and throw it away when you get home.
Sunsets: There have been some marvelous sunsets in
the past month. There’s a terrific view
of them at the picnic bench on Sunset Hill.

Volunteers
for Flora Mapping: Regrettably
I’ve run out of time. I was working
with Marion and Stan Faustman to identify plants in the common area and create
a flora map. The plan was build the flora map over the next year letting
you know what's out there and where. If you’d like to pick this up, let
me know and I can hand over what we’ve got so far.
Walden Woods Photos
As a reminder, I've consolidated the digital photos taken of Walden Woods Common Area, events and activities into a binder of CD's and thumbnail prints. These include the Common Area moonlight walk, Easter egg hunts, block parties, annual meetings and more. If you wish to borrow the CD binder to make copies of some of the photos, let me know.

Terri Ryland, ask her about her new exciting job with Government Financial Strategies,
Inc, a firm specializing in school district financing (ranging from bond
issuances, leases, other long-term financing, developer fee studies, etc.) She’s working downtown (have her people
contact your people and do lunch!)

We’re
loosing one of our neighbors. In case
you haven't noticed the increased activity at 8220 Parus (lot 20), Mary Low
Stone and family have moved. She sent a
nice note saying they enjoyed their time here, but the Ooley’s who rent the
house from them decided it was time to sell.
